About Zauberberg! German Shepherd Breeder and Dog Training in Tucson

What they offer

Zauberberg is a German Shepherd breeder and training kennel on South Camino Verde in southwest Tucson, marking 40 years of breeding and training in Arizona. Its training page offers two routes: private lessons, where the owner is taught to train the dog, and board and train programs, where the dog is trained by the kennel and the owner gets lessons. Most obedience commands are trained off leash. It also offers protection dog training and sells trained German Shepherds.

How they train

The site divides programs into a teaching phase and a training phase: behaviors are taught with positive reinforcement and then made reliable using the other quadrants of training. The kennel publishes a large library of training videos.

About the trainer

The trainer page says Andreas Mueller trained his first dog in Germany 35 years ago, has titled more than 150 dogs, and competed in police dog competitions.
