About WeFriends K9
What the service is
WeFriends K9 lists its services as a single menu on the home page: "Adventure Day/ PACK WALK/ Individual Walk," daycare, "Boarding at our place," drop-in visits and overnight sitting at the client's place, "Gentle Touch Massage to release stress and tension," and "Dog Rehabilitation/ Training." The framing throughout is structured care rather than free play – the walk line is described as "Structured and also fun."
The training it publishes
Training appears in two places. It is named as its own line – "Dog Rehabilitation/ Training" – and it is folded into the walking service: "Now offering the TRAINING WALK focused on leash manners and reactivity." The reasoning the site gives for the walking emphasis is behavioral: "Never stop walking your dog!! It benefits you and your dog(s) physically and mentally. Some behavioral issues can be solved just by walking your dog(s) more. And of course, they will have fun and will get what they need."
Who runs it
The site names the two people running it by first name and describes their backgrounds: "Amelie and her husband, Stephen, have many years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all kinds, including rescued animals." It says "Amelie previously worked at the Wisconsin Humane Society as a animal care technician and has participated in and volunteered with several international animal rescue organizations," with experience across "many different types of dogs, cats, and other animals," and that "Stephen is a teacher with Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS)." On who turns up: "Most of the time, Amelie leads the services, though sometimes both of them work together. At other times, only one of them may be present for the service."
Stated philosophy
The site's own statement of intent is a welfare one rather than a training-method one: "Every breed deserves love, happiness & good care … We truly believe that animals deserve the same balance, happiness, joy and harmony in their lives as we do. Our goal is to provide a safe, structured, and loving environment where pets can feel comfortable and understood." It adds that "with our knowledge of dog psychology and training, many pet parents also notice positive changes in their dog's behavior at home."
Coming, not yet here
One item is explicitly not open yet and is recorded as such: the site announces "Coming Soon! We're putting the finishing touches on our large, fully fenced yard!", expected "by the end of August 2026," which would give "our Adventure Day and boarding guests even more room to explore, play, and enjoy the outdoors safely." Ask about program length, prices and credentials when you get in touch.
