About Misfits Dog Training

What they offer

Misfits Dog Training is a balanced dog trainer serving Castle Rock and the surrounding area, with a second operation in Virginia. Its Colorado page lists four areas of work: pet dogs and off-leash obedience, reactivity and behavior modification, livestock guardian and working dogs, and personal protection and hunting dogs.

Approach

The site says it does not sell one-size-fits-all programs or quick fixes. Good decisions are rewarded with praise, affection and freedom, and poor decisions are addressed clearly and consistently so dogs learn to make better choices. Training starts with a consultation booked through the calendar on the Colorado page.

About the trainer

The founder, John, came to dog training from years of technical problem-solving in HVAC and works with everything from specialized hunting dogs to reactive family pets. The page lists a CSU certification in K9 Peak Performance (strength and conditioning).
