About The Canine Classroom
A family-run practice in Portland
The Canine Classroom is a family-run dog training practice on SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy in Portland, founded in 1993. Founder Steve Fuller began training dogs in 1978 and works alongside his son Wesley, and the business cites over 45 years of experience with any breed, size or age.
Approach
Training is one-on-one and hands-on, with owners involved from the start. The focus is clear communication, structure, consistency and calm leadership, so behavior holds at home, on walks, around guests and in public. The team specializes in reactive or aggressive behavior, strong breeds and dogs that need a fresh approach after earlier training.
Programs
The Behavior & Obedience Program serves adolescent and adult dogs with leash pulling, reactivity, barking, jumping, household manners and off-leash reliability. Puppy Foundations is for puppies 12 weeks and older and covers house and crate training, biting, early leash skills, obedience basics and socialization. Clients come from Portland, Beaverton, Tigard and Lake Oswego.
What owners say
One owner of a Labrador puppy wrote that the exercises are "well explained/demonstrated to make them simple and easy to replicate."
