About Scentsible K9 Dog Training

A nervous-system-first method

Scentsible K9 Training works with dogs in Meridian and Boise. Founder Kelty Forman built The Scentsible Method after working in daycares, grooming shops, search and rescue and police K9 units. The method puts the relationship first and regulation before skills, organized around three pillars: Safe, Seen and Secure. Scent detection is the cornerstone, because, in the team's words, "sniffing reaches the nervous system directly." Obedience such as sit, stay, place and heel is taught too. The team credits itself with 1,000+ dogs trained and four certified trainers.

Who it is for

The team describes four kinds of dogs it is built for: overwhelmed (anxiety, fear, reactivity), overexcited (jumping, pulling), confused (inconsistent recall) and under-fulfilled (barking, destruction). Private lessons focus heavily on leash reactivity, over-arousal and fear-based reactivity.
