Unfortunately my dog was attacked during an agility class. Thankfully he only sustained a small injury on his bottom, but the situation was really scary. The instructors never offered me an apology for the incident, but they did tell me I would receive a refund because I spoke to them after class letting them know how upset I was about what happened.
In my opinion, steps should always be taken to ensure dog-aggressive dogs do not end up in group class situations. The attack on my dog was unprovoked. The other dog got away from his handler and b lined over to my dog, grabbing his tail then biting his butt. Incidents like this can be prevented in a group class through asking questions at the registration process and taking the time to evaluate the dogs before putting them in a room full of other dogs. My dog is small so this situation could have potentially been tragic.
And the thing that upset me the most was how the in incident was brushed off. The instructors made no indication that they took any responsibility for what happened and said nothing about steps they would take to ensure something like this wouldn’t happen again. I understand that dogs are unpredictable and things happen, but I was disappointed in the lack of accountability and reflection. I was blamed for the way I reacted, because I was upset. They tried to convince me I was traumatizing my own dog by being upset he was attacked.
Be really careful if you bring your dog here.
I'm in the green top. Rocky absolutely LOVED the class!!! Allison is the best instructor ever! Plenty of parking, although more lighting would be helpful to leave after dark. Or, at least some type of indication where the entrance/exit is. Can't wait to go to the second session!!
A good place to agility train your dog! Experienced, dog-loving trainers.
Had a great experience! The facility was very nice and the instructors were great. Will be coming back.
Sky dogs offers a variety of classes that are fun and challenging for your dog! The trainers love dogs of all shapes and sizes and my dog has an absolute blast every time she comes. I love that they offer a membership so you can get 24/7 access to the building to practice your agility on your own too. I look forward to many more classes at sky dogs and will definitely invest in the full co-op/ membership to get the full benefits because this place rocks!
