What they offer

B3 K9 Training & Boarding is a family-run training, boarding and grooming facility on Hackathorn Lane in Gillette. Pet training covers one-on-one basic obedience, group obedience classes and board-and-train programs, and the team says its methods adjust to each dog rather than following a cookie-cutter style, aiming for long-term improvement at home rather than a quick fix.

Working dogs

The trainers come from a police K9 background, and the facility runs police K9 courses: dual-purpose courses in apprehension, detection, evidence location and tracking or trailing, single-purpose detection courses and tracking courses, plus a personal protection course. It is licensed to train on actual controlled substances, certifies narcotics detection teams for a neighboring state patrol, and offers free housing for police K9 handlers attending training.

Boarding and grooming

Overnight boarding uses heated and air-conditioned indoor runs with large outdoor exercise areas, and grooming is available for dogs of all sizes. One trainer is an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator.
