About Alpine Dog VT, Nancy Poitras

Dog training and adventure team

Alpine Dog is a Colchester dog training and adventure team business. The trainer works with owners in their homes and out in public, moving on to field trips at public parks and trails to work on distractions and more advanced skills. Training runs on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings. Programs include private training, board and train, the Alpine Dog Adventure Team, on-leash walks and boarding, and a Social Club at Alpenhof.

Focus

Alpine Dog trains dogs from puppies as young as 8 weeks old into socially mature adults, focusing on socialization and beginner and advanced obedience, with recall as the main priority. The Adventure Team is offered as an alternative to daycare and is described as the heart and soul of the business. During board and train programs, dogs stay in the trainer's home rather than a kennel. Training tools are discussed and agreed with the owner before use. Packages of 10 sessions are available.

Credentials

The trainer presents as a Certified Professional Training Without Conflict Trainer and is insured through IACP.
