About Grey’s Outfitting

What they offer

Grey's Outfitting trains bird dogs from its home and training grounds in Caratunk, in the Kennebec River Valley, surrounded by thousands of acres of undeveloped land. It takes a holistic approach to training pointing and flushing dogs as well as retrievers, and also breeds Elhew English Pointers and runs a guide service.

Training

Dogs are run and trained every day it is safe to do so, sometimes on long group runs, and then trained on wild birds, obedience and problem areas such as gun shyness, range issues and bird-related issues. Training, boarding and work go on all year, and conditioning stays focus on fitness for dogs that do not hunt. Started dogs are available too.

Seminars and clinics

Clinics cover introductions to pointer training and to flusher and retriever training, introducing the e-collar, intermediate pointer and flusher or retriever training, and wild bird exposure.
