About Wags Doggie Day Camp & Boarding
Day camp and boarding since 2004
Wags Doggie Daycamp & Boarding has provided doggie daycare and cage-free overnight boarding in Danbury since 2004, and moved in February 2020 to a renovated facility at 47 Miry Brook Road near exit 3. The building has five indoor playrooms with rubber floors, each with outdoor yards behind 7-foot vinyl fencing, plus separate small-dog playgroups, cat boarding and grooming.
Play and Learn training
Wags has a full-time trainer on staff, Ashley, who is CPDT certified and uses only positive, reward-based methods. In the Play and Learn program she takes a dog out of playgroup for about 40 minutes a day of one-on-one training, usually split into two 20-minute lessons. Sessions cover foundational and advanced obedience cues and manners such as walking nicely on leash, polite greetings, calm car entry and exit, and cooperating for vet visits.
Play and Learn is sold in packages added to daycamp or boarding visits: 5 sessions for $250 plus tax or 10 sessions for $450 plus tax. For private in-home lessons and group classes, Wags refers owners to The Exceptional Pet, which also runs classes at Wags.
