About K954 Dog Training

Relationship-based training in Fort Lauderdale

K954 Dog Training runs a training facility at 4442 NE 20th Ave in Fort Lauderdale and offers in-home sessions across Broward County. Its trainer is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) and Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP), a former vet tech whose main passion is behavior modification. Memberships listed include APDT, IACP and IAABC.

Method

K954 describes fear-free, relationship-based training that uses classical and operant conditioning with a strong focus on a dog's emotional state. That means plenty of rewards, desensitization and counterconditioning, and a commitment never to harm, dominate or scare a dog. Owners are trained alongside their dogs, with remote support between sessions.

Programs

Services include private sessions, daily in-home training, traditional board and train, and pet care. Curriculums cover puppy preschool, basic and advanced obedience, off-leash work, service dog and therapy dog training, cooperative care and behavior modification. The trainer has worked with blind, deaf and mobility-limited dogs, seniors, dogs with chronic medical conditions and dogs recovering from trauma. Puppies need their first round of vaccinations to start.

What owners say

One client wrote that the trainer "geared the training to the specific dog vs a 'one size fits all' approach."
