About Harmony K9 Training
In-home training in Fort Lauderdale
Harmony K9 Training is based at 5441 NE 22nd Terrace in Fort Lauderdale and serves Broward County and the wider South Florida region. Owner and head trainer Aaron Baden says he has trained over 1000 dogs and specializes in obedience and behavior modification. He started his career with a one-year apprenticeship at New Heights Dog Training, a school under the Michael Ellis Dog Training system.
Approach
His philosophy is to bring the relationship between dog and owner into harmony by setting clear expectations and boundaries. He teaches obedience based on operant and classical conditioning, using positive reinforcement to motivate commands and appropriate corrections to make unwanted behavior less likely. A long-time student of meditation and yoga, he also teaches owners mindfulness and breathing techniques to stay calm and focused during training.
Services
Training is personalized and held in the dog's home environment, working one-on-one with the owner. Programs cover obedience, aggression rehab, behavior modification for issues like excessive barking or separation anxiety, and protection training. Additional services include half-hour structured walks, a four-day-a-week conditioning routine for overweight dogs with nutrition analysis and leash and off-leash work, and dog sitting in the client's home.
