Sound Solutions Dog Training is run by owner and trainer Daniel Edgar and serves the Henrico area and beyond. His bio covers an apprenticeship at a Richmond dog school in 2021 and behavior modification coursework at a professional school for dog trainers. He has a particular affinity for fearful dogs.

Services

Private sessions are tailored to each dog. Day Trains are 90-minute sessions at home or out in parks, pet-friendly stores and patios. Behavior modification covers fear, reactivity, anxiety and aggression. Remote collar training aims at off-leash reliability. Drop-Off Day School runs Mondays and Wednesdays in groups of two or three dogs ($130 a day), and drop-in visits are available.

Board and train

Dogs live and train in a home environment, with daily sessions, photo and video check-ins and two go-home sessions. New clients start at two weeks: $2,100 for two weeks, $3,050 for three and $4,000 for four. A private session is required first.

Method

Positive reinforcement is the primary teaching method, alongside boundaries and structure. Corrections are used only after the dog understands the behavior.
