Beyond the Dog – Dallas builds customized, private dog training programs for dogs throughout Dallas, from small puppy questions to serious behavior concerns. The team is led by Dr. Echterling-Savage and describes its work as using the latest research in dog training and behavior. Team members hold bachelor's or post-graduate degrees, dog training certifications through IAABC and CCPDT, and mentorships, with backgrounds that include doctoral-level research, zoo-keeping, marine mammal training, service dog training and horse training.

How training works

Dogs get one-on-one sessions, and coaching the owner is a core part of every program: the trainer works on the client's handling skills in weekly sessions. Training is not tied to one facility; the team trains where life in Dallas takes the dog. The menu covers obedience, reactivity, resource guarding, fear, touch sensitivity, cat chasing, separation anxiety, puppy training, virtual programs and a board and train retreat, plus cat training.
