In-home training around Dallas

Breyers' Canine Academy offers one-on-one, in-home dog training in the Dallas area, customized for any breed or age, with support through personalized video recaps. Founder and chief trainer Breyers Lane started at a dog training and boarding facility at age 15 and built the Breyers Method, refined over 25 years, around training the dog and the owner together. The academy credits him with training thousands of dogs in the Dallas area. Certified trainers trained directly by Breyers deliver the program.

Puppy program

After an in-home consultation, puppies 2-8 months get a 12-month, 60-lesson plan in four stages: potty and crate training, manners and early socialization; leash skills, guest etiquette and impulse control; distraction work and proofing; then off-leash reliability, public behavior and advanced obedience. The program costs $2,500 down plus $791 a month, with a $250 discount on lesson packages for each additional dog. A dog program covers ages 9 months and up.

How lessons run

For the first four weeks trainers work with the dog alone; owners join in weeks five through seven. Saturday times are offered, and in-person service covers about a 20-minute radius including North Dallas, Park Cities and Lakewood.
