About The Dog Wizard – Dog & Puppy Obedience Training Riverview

The Dog Wizard Riverview

The Dog Wizard Riverview is a service-disabled veteran-owned and operated dog training location based in Brandon and serving Riverview, Apollo Beach, Brandon, FishHawk, Ruskin and Wimauma. It aims for a personalized approach so training stays with the dog for years, starting with a free evaluation and a plan built around the owner's schedule.

Programs

Options include obedience programs with lifetime support, private lessons, group classes, board and train, puppy training, day training, specialty training and AKC training. Behavior work covers barking, chewing, jumping, leash pulling, play biting, door bolting and housebreaking, plus resource guarding, aggression, separation anxiety, rescue dog rehab and socialization. Hands-on training comes as in-home or mobile programs, and grooming and daycare are also offered.

The trainers

Deirdre Wols grew up in Santa Fe, served in the United States Marine Corps, started as a kennel technician at Tampa's Dog Wizard and completed the Dog Wizard Academy as an advanced trainer. Amado Bonilla studied veterinary medicine at Universidad Cardenal Herrera, then attended Animal Behavior College for a dog training certification; his own reactive German Shepherd sparked his interest in behavior modification. The team trains with balanced techniques.

Hours

By appointment only: Tuesday to Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Call (813) 579-5870.
