About Ubora K9

A young, sport-grounded balanced practice

Ubora K9 is run by Harleigh Unger and publishes: "Welcome to Ubora K9, where we practice balanced training that emphasizes positive reinforcement and relationship-based methods." The stated aim is fluency between handler and dog: "My goal is to help you communicate fluently with your dog, ensuring a strong bond built on trust and understanding." The site serves "Grand Rapids and surrounding areas" on (269) 369-2601.

Programs

Two are published. Tailored Programs: "We design personalized training plans to address specific behavior and obedience needs, ensuring a harmonious coexistence." Adventure Days: "Dog training in the real world. Adventure Days combine dog training and enrichment by traveling with dogs to various locations to explore cities, hiking trails, swimming opportunities, and more! Be sure to follow us on Facebook to see when our Adventure Days are available. Spots are limited!" Free consultations are offered.

Training education

The site lists a dated education record rather than a credential badge: "Crouse Canine monthly working dog club 2022-2024", "Crouse Canine Decoy Development Workshop Oct 2023", "Vindictive Working Dogs weekly club trainings 2023-2024", "Divinity K9 live-in mentorship June-July 2024", "2nd Place Silver at Lakefront's The Purge: Election Year Oct 2024", "Intro to SAR Workshop Oct 2025", "3 Day PSA workshop with Marco Arroyo June 2026", "PSA seminar with Corey Pandorf August 2026", "Michael Bishop's Egnition Course Present" and "Cryptic Canine Working Dogs monthly club trainings Present."

The demo dog

Loki, born 13 October 2019, is described as a Belgian Malinois and Australian Shepherd: "From Covid pup to trick master, Service Dog, weekend warrior PSA athlete and my right-hand man, Loki has been an amazing dog to learn alongside. He is who started my training journey!"

Intake

The enquiry form asks for breed, age, spay/neuter status, and whether the dog is "up to date on Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper/Parvo vaccinations," including the date of the last fecal exam – a stricter intake than most local sites publish.
