About Canine Unleashed

Who runs it

Canine Unleashed trains at 585 Avawam Dr, Richmond, KY 40475. The site writes as "we" and claims longevity rather than a named trainer: "With over 20 years of experience, we specialize in transforming that frustration into harmony by helping dog owners build clear communication and lasing bonds with their canine companions."

What they offer

Five programs are named in the site's own navigation and program page: Puppy Pre School, Basic Manners / On Leash Obedience, Advanced "Off Leash" Obedience, Boarding School, and Protection Dog Training. Boarding School is described as "a very intensive curriculum in which the dog lives at the home training facility." The advanced course "is a continuation of the Basic Obedience class. In this set of lessons we will be pushing and expecting more from your pet." Protection training is pitched as "an Affordable Exclusive Family Protection Dog," with an in-house "Green to Gold Program." A separate page in the navigation carries an aggressive-dog policy.

The problems they name

The home page lists them as its own headings: destructive behavior, leash pulling, getting in the garbage, jumping on visitors, counter surfing.

The approach

"we specialize in understanding how dogs communicate… When you communicate effectively, your dog will naturally want to please you."

What clients say

The site publishes three reviews. One reads: "Our puppy was wild and didn't behave at all. Two weeks at Canine Unleashed and he is totally transformed." Another: "Canine unleashed was great with training my dog. They did an excellent job with my 5 month old German shepherd during. He learned all his basic commands and was outstanding doing his on leash obedience."
