About Agiledogs

AgileDogs is the dog-sport school of this metro, run by Trisha Stall at 37 S Greenfield Rd in Greenfield Center, five miles northwest of Saratoga Springs. Its own summary is exact: "We teach classes in and host trials for Dog Agility, Rally Obedience, and Scentwork in Greenfield Center, New York."

Classes and trials

The teaching runs in sessions rather than continuously – the site posts each session's schedule as it opens, and the most recent note announces a September session including a puppy class. Alongside group classes the site publishes private lessons and seminars. What sets the place apart locally is that it also hosts sanctioned trials: the current premiums listed are a USDAA agility trial and three CPE trials, including a Speedway and two CSS trials, spread across the autumn.

Method

The published philosophy is unambiguous: "We believe in positive, no-force methods, and incorporating the use of clicker/operant conditioning training, targeting, and backchaining into everything we do with dogs." The site adds that its instructors have attended seminars and workshops with trainers from the United States and beyond.

Credentials as published

The site publishes an AKC CGC Evaluator number and an AITC (Advanced Instructor Training Course) graduate credential for the second named instructor.

Community

AgileDogs also hosts the Capital District Agility Fun Group and keeps a students' "brags" page, which is the ordinary shape of a sport club rather than a commercial training service, and is worth knowing before booking: this is the place to go for agility, rally and scentwork, not for a bite case.
