About All Phase K9 Training Center

The facility and the programs

All Phase K9 Training Center works from 711 Acorn Drive in Harrisonburg and describes itself as "a year round indoor/outdoor professional training facility that offers an individualized approach in training both family pets and working dogs." Its training is sold as three residential packages, each combining a stay with owner lessons: Basic Obedience is a "2 week stay 3 private lessons $1,450"; Beyond Basic is the same length at "$1,550 + training collar purchase" and "incorporates e-collar"; Off-Lead Obedience is a "4 week stay 5 private lessons" at "$2,700 + training collar purchase", also e-collar based. Private lessons are sold on their own too, at "$75/ hour", as "one-on-one coaching sessions designed to address specific goals or trouble areas."

The trainer

Laurel Strotter (Warren) is named as the trainer, and the site says she "has trained dogs for over 25 years." Her background is described as running from companion dog training to AKC show handling, obedience competition, Schutzhund training and competition, and scent detection, and as a lifetime member of Blue and Gray Search and Rescue Dogs she has "trained multiple dogs to operational status including Wilderness Air Scent and Human Remains Detection (HRD) dogs." That is her own working history rather than a menu: the programs sold to the public are the three obedience packages above.

Worth knowing

Boarding and grooming run from the same premises and are priced separately; neither is a training program. Office hours are short and mornings only, closed Tuesday and Sunday, so plan the drop-off around them. The site also mentions an "H.O.T. Program" without explaining what it is, which is worth asking about directly.
