About Barking Bonds Dog Training and Boarding

What they offer

Barking Bonds Dog Training and Boarding is a Fort Collins dog training business at 3614 Richmond Dr, run by Olivia Bordone, whom the site describes as an experienced dog trainer and behavioral consultant. Puppy training covers the first week at home, socialization, house training, crate training, cooperative care and basic obedience, with the trainer coming to your home. Obedience training can be done with you learning to train your dog, or the trainer can come to your home over 8-10 weeks and teach your dog for you. Board and train programs bring your dog into the pack for daily training sessions, with videos, photos and notes on progress, followed by sessions to hand the training over to you. Behavior packages address separation anxiety, different types of aggression, excessive barking, leash reactivity and similar problems. Online training with video follow-ups and boarding are also offered.

How they train

The site says it uses a scientific method based on the natural language and behavior of your dog, and that instead of teaching dogs human language, it teaches owners "how to speak Dog". It describes its approach as positive and less intrusive, and says the trainer's mentor taught her the natural method of training, based on ethology and dog psychology.

Good to know

It starts with a free consultation to design a personalized plan. Sessions can take place at your home, at the trainer's place, or out on trails, downtown and in shops. The site says services are offered in Spanish and Italian as well as English, and it lists a Mexican professional dog trainer certification.
