Better Bond Canine was founded by Bryn Mersereau in 2024. The site describes her as a seasoned dog trainer with over 8 years of experience, and elsewhere says she has been handling and training animals for the last 10 years, with experience in high-volume kennels behind her confidence handling dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments.

Method

The site states the approach outright – "we ascribe to the balanced training approach with a big lean towards the positive". Corrections have their place and respect from the dog matters, but suppression and compulsion usually do not – the stated aim is a dog that learns to think things through and make the right choices rather than being forced into compliance.

Board and train

Deliberate low volume is presented as the point. During a board-and-train stay the dog lives and trains in a real home environment, with a focus on relationship building and clear, fair, consistent expectations, on teaching the dog to think, learn and settle on its own, and on socialization in the world and with other balanced dogs where that is a client goal.

What they work on

The site names leash reactivity, resource guarding, stranger danger, impulse control, leash manners and counter surfing among the problems it takes on, and says the trainer's experience across breeds and temperaments decides the route taken on tools, reinforcement and motivation.
