About bishop gun dogs

Gun dog programs

This Boaz trainer's website carries the name Drake Gun Dogs. Its programs build in stages: a Puppy Head Start for confidence, retrieving and manners; Basic Gun Dog for obedience, force fetch, steadiness and marks; and Advanced Gun Dog for blinds, handling, multiple marks and technical work. All-Breed Obedience is offered for dogs of any breed.

Training grounds

Training grounds sit directly behind the kennel, with access to thousands of acres of fields, ponds and varied terrain so dogs work through changing pictures: birds, water, gunfire, cover, boats and blinds. The kennel is an old field-trial barn rebuilt around the dogs, with individual training kennels and boarding stalls.

Getting started

Owners apply for training through the site, which also takes boarding bookings. Phone (256) 677-5475.
