Bravo Zulu Dog Training
Overview
About Bravo Zulu Dog Training
Bravo Zulu Dog Training covers the Hampton end of the peninsula – the site says simply "Servicing the Hampton, VA region" – and does it by coming to you rather than asking you to come to a facility.
Where the training happens
The services page is unusually specific about location, which matters more than most trainers admit. Private training is described as "Our trainer will come to your home to work with you and your dog." Day training is the same arrangement without you present: "Our trainer comes to your home while you are at work and trains with your dog one on one." The board-and-train option inverts it – "Your dog comes to stay with our trainer and learns all basic behaviors/any behaviors you request" – so the dog goes to the trainer's home rather than to a kennel. There is a package price too: "Buy 5 sessions, get one free. Must be purchased together to qualify!"
The method is a commitment, not a tagline
Plenty of sites say positive. This one says what it will not use, which is the version you can actually hold someone to: "At Bravo Zulu Dog Training, we believe in the use of force-free, positive reinforcement training. We do not use any tools such as choke collars, prong collars or e-collars." If you have been told your dog needs a prong or an e-collar and you would rather not, that sentence is the reason to call here.
Who the trainer is
The about page names her and lists the credentials in one run: "Cat Clark is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed through CCPDT and the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training and Behavior, where she graduate with Distinction, as well as a Level 2 Graduate of Peaceable Paws Academy." Memberships follow – "She is a member of the Pet Professional Guild, The Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and the Hampton Roads Force Free Network." – and, as background rather than a dog credential, the page notes "Cat is a 27 year veteran of the US Air Force and earned Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership."
What is not offered
There is no group class, no facility, and no aggression or protection lane advertised. Two house dogs are introduced on the about page as canine assistants, one of them holding an AKC Canine Good Citizen title.
