About Brook Run Dog Retreat

A home-based retreat in Bolton

Brook Run Dog Retreat is a dog training center in Bolton run by husband and wife Lynn and Michael Lovejoy, with an emphasis on each dog's emotional well-being. It describes itself as a home-based retreat built around small groups, natural spaces and structured experiences rather than a warehouse-style facility, with fenced yards, sensory gardens, a private dog pool and an agility field.

Method

Brook Run uses the Training Between the Ears methods developed by Mark and Stephanie McCabe. It is a food reward-based program that focuses on calmness, social skills and emotional support. Dogs go through a screening process before joining the pack, so the group is made up of dogs that want to participate.

Services

Dog Day School helps dogs find calm and confidence in a small pack setting, and Puppy Pre-K is a program where puppies learn, play and grow. Brook Run also offers training, overnight boarding in the owners' home, private hikes on its own trails, a private dog park and a dog pool, and carries a selection of specialty foods, treats and enrichment products.
