Positive training for adventure dogs

Trail Pups Training is run by Liv Arent, a certified dog trainer who offers in-person training in Jericho and nearby Chittenden County towns, including Richmond, Williston, Essex, Hinesburg, Underhill, Huntington, South Burlington, Burlington and Winooski, plus virtual sessions nationwide. She helps with basics like loose leash walking and not jumping on people, behavioral challenges like reactivity, fear and aggression, and outdoor skills such as mountain biking with a dog.

Services

Private training is one-on-one, in person or virtual. Day training has Liv work with the dog directly, and Adventure Training builds outdoor skills for safer, more reliable outings. Group hikes are also offered.

Method and credentials

Liv describes her approach as relationship based and built on positive reinforcement, empathy and data-driven training plans. She holds KPA-CTP (February 2024) and completed the Aggression in Dogs Master Course (December 2023), with continuing education in reactivity, pain recognition and sound sensitivity. Her own two dogs with behavioral challenges led her into the profession.
