About Canine University, LLC
A women-led school in Sunrise
Canine University is a small, women-led dog training business in Sunrise, with the tagline "Where we Domesticate and Sophisticate." Owner and trainer Brianna Alamo writes the school's training programs; she started her first company, Aninanny Dog Training, in 2018. She is an AKC Evaluator for CGC, Puppy S.T.A.R. and Trick Titles, and lists certifications in Pet First Aid, Basic Training Theory and +R Clicker Training, Fear and Aggression, and BAT Training.
Method
The school describes a balanced method: positive reinforcement combined with behavior analysis to create consequences that minimize unwanted behaviors. Its motto is "All praise. No shame."
Programs
Private lessons take place at the client's home or at the school. Board and train runs at the Sunrise premises in a home setting, covering obedience, socialization, crate training, housebreaking and behavior modification, with daily updates, training videos and lessons at home after pickup; 4-6 weeks is recommended for untrained dogs over a year old. The basic two-week format covers name, come, sit, down, place, stay and loose-leash walking. Behavior plans address leash reactivity, fear, aggression, barking, digging, chewing, separation anxiety and door-dashing. Daycare runs 8am-5pm by reservation from $35 a day, and the school holds a monthly leash training workshop at a local park.
