About Century Dog Training
Force-free training in Syracuse
Century Dog Training is a Syracuse-area dog training business that comes to clients across Weber and Davis counties. Founder and trainer Kayli Jacob describes a force-free approach that uses the science of learning and behavior to shape unwanted behavior into something desirable, with personalized plans for each dog and owner.
Services
Private training sessions meet one-on-one in the owner's home or a public place. Century also offers service dog training, group puppy training, a DIY bootcamp, and 30-minute dog walking and hiking sessions with built-in training. Common issues addressed include obedience, reactivity, jumping, puppy biting, overexcitability, leash pulling, barking at the door, recall, housebreaking, excessive barking, crate training, chewing and digging. The Canine Good Citizen program appears under its certifications.
The trainer
Kayli started as an intern at a local training company at 17 and was hired soon after, then spent a few years mentoring under other trainers before settling on force-free methods. She has worked with breeds from shih tzus to coon hounds.
What owners say
One client, a fear free groomer, recommended Kayli "to anyone that is wanting fear free punishment free training." Another praised the emphasis "on positive reinforcement instead of punitive methods."
