What they do

Colonial K-9 is the closest thing this metro has to a traditional training club with a building behind it. The Stafford facility combines training, boarding and grooming, and the business describes its indoor training facility as "the largest in the area" and rents it out to others.

The training is unusually class-shaped for this market, where most local supply is residential. The obedience ladder runs Puppy STAR Program, Beginner, Canine Good Citizen, Intermediate and Advanced as group classes. Alongside the classes sit "a 3 Week Resident Obedience Program and private lessons", so the residential option exists but is not the default.

Above the obedience ladder is a competition track. AKC Competition classes include Attention & Engagement, Competition Obedience Prep, Performance Puppy, Click & Trick, and Rally, aimed at ring readiness. Open ring practice runs every Saturday from 8:45 to 10:45 am across three rings covering novice, open, utility and rally. Conformation handling classes let handlers practice ring patterns and improve ring presence in a controlled show-like setting. Agility runs at beginner and advanced-beginner level, described as available for just fun and exercise or for competition readiness. The home page also lists fly-ball and scent work among what the facility trains.

Facility and boarding

Boarding runs in centrally heated and cooled indoor and outdoor runs with 24 hour on-site staff, and dogs get daily exercise in the outdoor play areas. Grooming is in-house. The business publishes a 10% military and police discount.

Practical details

The facility is at 30 Big Spring Lane, Stafford. Published hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm, with Saturday and Sunday split into a morning and a late-afternoon block. Obedience class sign-up and payment can be done online.
