About Off Leash K9 Training, Fredericksburg
What they do
Off Leash K9 Training, Fredericksburg is a location of the Off Leash K9 franchise, which the site describes as having "over 130 locations nationwide". What makes the local page useful rather than generic is that it publishes its own prices and its own service area, and both are specific.
Private obedience runs as four lessons at $650 or eight lessons at $975; the eight-lesson version adds advanced work including extended-distance obedience and the watch, through, front and stand commands. A separately priced eight-lesson package at $975 is built for dogs with aggression or reactivity around other dogs, adding lessons working with you and your dog around other dogs in different scenarios. The same training delivered at your house costs more — $1,300 for the basic four lessons and $1,800 for the eight — and a one-hour virtual lesson over Zoom is $150. Every one of those packages includes an e-collar and training leash.
Board-and-train comes in two two-week shapes at $3,000 each. Community K9 proofs the dog against mid-level everyday distractions — house manners, parks, baseball games, trails, neighborhoods, big box stores. Urban K9 is aimed at high-level distraction: busy events, highly populated metropolitans, airports, shopping centers, train stations. Both finish with a two-hour one-on-one session for the owner and both advertise a free refresher for life.
The one positive-reinforcement program
Set against the e-collar packages is Marker Mastery, a four-week program of four one-hour sessions at $500, described on the price page as using "Reward-Based Training Methods" and supplying a 15' leash, clicker and slip lead. It covers come, sit, place and loose-leash walking. If method matters to you, this is the program to ask about by name, because it is the only one on the list that does not assume an e-collar.
Coverage and honesty about limits
The location page names an unusually long service list: Fredericksburg City plus Stafford County, Spotsylvania County, King George County and Caroline County, and by name Aquia Harbour, Garrisonville, Brooke, Quantico, Falmouth, Leeland, Berea, New Post, Thornburg, Lake of the Woods, Lake Anna, Southern Gateway, Bowling Green, Culpeper and Bealeton.
Worth noting for anyone shopping on an aggression case: the price page itself states that "It is impossible to guarantee complete fixes of major behavioral issues such as dog aggression/people aggression", and says the aim is to give you control and better help manage these issues. That caveat appears on the aggression package and on both board-and-train programs.
