About

Cross Creek Kennels.llc is a family-run dog boarding, daycare, and training facility in Xenia, Ohio, opened in the winter of 2020. The owners describe a goal of making every dog feel comfortable and welcome and "making everyone feel like family," and note they are building a new, larger facility with additional kennels, suites, daycare space, and an on-site training area.

Services

Alongside boarding and doggie daycare, the facility offers training classes that its trainers tailor to each dog's needs, ranging from basic obedience to more advanced skills, with the stated aim of strengthening the bond between dog and owner. Grooming is available on site through a partner business, Enchanted Paws, and the kennel also carries pet supplies including food, toys, and accessories. The business operates at 1778 U.S. 42 East in Xenia.

What they can help with

Sarah worked wonders with our 3 month old puppy Belle. She was very kind and loving towards our puppy. After 2 weeks Belle had many commands under control including sit, down, stay and is able to walk on a leash. She listens well to both my husband and myself and even follows commands from our 6 year old grandson.

I cannot say enough great things about Cross Creek Kennels!! We have a 4 yo, 125#, intact male Rottweiler and rescued a 17 month old, 100#, intact male Rottweiler. After the first meeting at home didn’t go so well, we reached out to Dan and Cross Creek Kennels for help. They stepped up for us in a huge way. They started by taking the new puppy for 2 weeks to learn some manners (aka basic obedience). What Sarah accomplished with him was amazing!! Then they helped us navigate a healthy and safe way to introduce the dogs. They taught us cues to observe in the dogs, gave us strategies to integrate them and when we were ready, sent us home set up for success. Less than a week home with both dogs, they are playing and getting along great!! We are forever grateful for Dan & Sarah’s kindness and expertise that helped us navigate this process that many said was impossible. We 100% recommend this amazing place and this awesome, incredibly skilled people! (See video in comments of our results!)

Always have availability when I call. They go the extra mile taking care of my dog who has epilepsy and give her medication. If it was not for Cross Creek I am not sure we could go out of town. When we are out of town, we know our dogs are well taken care of. Thank you!

Charlie doesn't hesitate going inside the door for daycare. Also, he actually gets to play with the other dogs and has a good time. The time spent at Cross Creek is not just daycare but they also teach pets to get along. When Charlie's happy, I'm happy.

Decent kennel.

The good:
The pricing is very reasonable.
Add on’s are great and don’t cost much.
Easy appointment set-up.

The bad:
One of our dog’s meals were skipped, and when we called to inquire if it was skipped the day we picked him up because we were later than expected they got defensive and gave a vague answer.

He had a few scratches on and near his nose, nothing crazy, but he’s tussled with many other dogs smaller and larger than him and never seemed to have an issue with aggression given or received.

This isn’t necessarily a bad, but they didn’t offer to show where he would be when we picked him up or dropped him off. They leave you in the small entrance room.
