About Crossfire K9 LLC

Crossfire K9 runs two parallel tracks out of Virginia Beach, and the same sentence introduces both depending on which page you land on: "We're a professional dog training company in Virginia Beach specializing in expert puppy training, and private lesson programs. From basic obedience to reliable off-leash control, our customized training solutions are designed to help your dog thrive-at home and in public." The board-and-train page runs the identical line with board and train swapped in for private lessons.

The method is spelled out

Most sites in this market say balanced and leave it there. This one itemises the toolkit: "A language of leash pressure, food rewards, marker words, and ecollar (age-dependent)." The age qualifier is the important part – the e-collar is not presented as something every dog gets, and puppies are handled separately. The framing elsewhere is play-based: "Devon Blansett and his expert team will help you build a strong, healthy relationship with your dog through clear communication and play-based training that deepens trust and connection."

What you are actually taught

The outcomes list is concrete rather than aspirational: "Basic obedience training, including sit, down, place, and heel", "Essential skills such as recall, loose leash walking, and remaining calm in public", and "A new daily routine that fulfills your dog's needs while reinforcing these valuable skills." There is a stated emphasis on coaching the owner as much as the dog – "we're passionate about helping dogs and their owners thrive. We believe one of the key aspects to long term success is training YOU."

The puppy program

Entry is age-gated: "Our puppy program is for fully vaccinated puppies 6 months and under. How you raise your puppy dictates how they mature into adult dogs."

What to ask

Ask about certifications and prices; experience is given as "6+ Years of Experience". The site funnels everything through a free phone consultation, so expect the specifics to come on that call rather than from the page.
