DePaul K9 Academy is a woman-owned, in-home dog training business in Melbourne, with the motto "Teach the Human, Train the Dog." Founder and head trainer Carol DePaul describes over 15 years as a private in-home trainer across Brevard County, serving Melbourne, Rockledge, Viera, Palm Bay and Indialantic. She lists seminar training with Cesar Millan, Martin Deeley, Tyler Muto, Joel Silverman and Duke Ferguson.

Method

Carol describes a balanced approach built on clear, fair and consistent communication, energy and pack leadership. Her Root Cause Methodology looks at why behavior happens, and every skill is taught through the 3 D's: distance, duration and distraction. Sessions take place in the home, the neighborhood and public spaces, and are recorded so owners can review them, with support between visits.

Programs

Programs include an initial consultation, the Puppy Potential Program, an In-Home Behavior and Obedience Program, Behavioral Breakthrough for issues such as leash reactivity, anxiety and fear, the Total Control real-world off-leash program, board and train, and mentorship for other trainers. Hours run Monday to Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM and Saturday 8:30 AM-2:00 PM, with in-home sessions by appointment.
