About Dog Alliance Training Center
Nonprofit training center in Cedar Park
The Dog Alliance is a nonprofit dog training center at 1321 W New Hope Drive in Cedar Park, serving families in Cedar Park and Austin. Alongside classes for family dogs, it trains service dogs to help veterans, and it describes itself as 1 of 168 fully accredited members of Assistance Dogs International in the world, with over 20 years of experience.
Programs
The Service Dog Training program is open to civilians and veterans and teaches people to train their own service dogs; Texas veterans with service-related disabilities can receive full tuition coverage through grants. Small group dog training classes cover sit, down, recall, stay, loose leash walking, settling, polite greetings and ignoring other dogs on leash. Puppy classes focus on early socialization, basic commands and good behavior. The therapy dog program prepares teams to visit hospitals, nursing homes and libraries, and agility training builds speed, focus and obstacle skills. Private lessons are also offered, and clients mention a Day School program for puppies.
Approach
The center describes its training as positive and personalized, led by certified trainers with over 50 years of combined experience.
