In-home training from Pewaukee

Dog Lady is run by a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) based in Pewaukee. All consultations and training take place in your own home, and the service covers southeast Wisconsin, with a travel fee beyond 20 miles from Pewaukee.

How it works

An initial consultation of 1.5 to 2 hours covers your dog's history, previous training, concerns and goals. Together you settle on a plan that works for your family, and the trainer explains and demonstrates the techniques so each family member can practice. Follow-up visits can expand training or troubleshoot, and behavior modification usually takes a number of visits.

Method

The trainer is committed to force-free methods: clicker and marker training, luring, shaping and targeting, with desensitization and counter-conditioning for fear. Force, pain and intimidation are not used.

Background

The trainer started teaching group classes in 2009 and founded Dog Lady in 2014, with group experience in puppy kindergarten, basic and advanced manners, Canine Good Citizen, therapy dog and agility.
