About Dog On It Training
What they do
Dog On It runs the most structured class ladder in the Augusta area, and publishes the whole of it with prices. The group track starts with The Basics – focus, sit, down, stay, loose-leash walking and recall, five weeks, one hour a week – then More Manners for the same skills under distraction, then Advanced. Alongside it sit AKC Canine Good Citizen prep with the test itself held in the final week, an Out and About class that moves to a new public environment each week, and Nose Work for scent sport. Puppies under four months have their own class and are encouraged to start there.
Private and day training
Private lessons run in the facility or at home, sold as single sessions or in four-, six- and eight-session packages after an initial session. Day Training is offered explicitly as the alternative to board and train for owners uncomfortable sending a dog away: a trainer comes to the house several times a week over three weeks and works the dog without the owner present, then runs a skills-transfer session at the end to hand the behaviors back.
Testing and staff
The business tests for AKC titles at twenty-five dollars each, covering S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Community Canine, Urban CGC and the four Trick Dog levels, and offers therapy dog certification. The team is named on the site: owner and head trainer Lia Fricke, who states sixteen years of training experience, and trainers Sonja Tate and Phillip Russum, with Becky McArdle as walker and training apprentice.
