About Dog Owner’s Academy
Dog Owner's Academy has been training dogs in Charlotte since 2008, and everything it publishes turns on one commitment: the trainers come to the client. Its own line is blunt about why – "your dog doesn't live in a classroom" – and the work is done in the home, the neighborhood, public parks and the other environments where the behavior actually has to hold.
Programs
Three paths are published: private in-home training, described as the most hands-on option; board and train; and ongoing group classes. Every path starts with a free in-home consultation in which the trainers observe the dog in the space where the behavior happens and give an honest assessment, with pricing and program fit covered in that conversation rather than on the site.
Its published philosophy
The site states that obedience matters but should never come at the cost of the dog's personality, confidence or spirit, and its trainers are described as relationship-based and practical. It claims over 5,000 Charlotte dogs trained and nearly twenty years of experience. There is also a #DogsWelcome strand aimed at owners who want to take their dog to more places, with partner businesses listed. The site's own writing covers separation anxiety, mouthing and off-leash confidence.
Who it’s best for
Best for a Charlotte household that wants the training done in the actual house and neighborhood and wants a free assessment before committing.
