About Dogs Day Out
What they do
Dog's Day Out has run since 2006 and publishes four services: **Daycare**, **Boarding**, **Training** and **Grooming** (the grooming arm is branded "Spa" in the site's navigation). All services are by appointment only.
The business describes itself as "a place that dogs can call their home away from home", and the order in which the services arrived is on record: the company opened "initially offering the first daycare in Bowling Green, followed by boarding, training, and grooming services."
The facility
This is a large physical setup. The site describes a "beautiful 33-acre private farm" in Warren County at 4800 Sunnyside Gott Road, and says the business "has since expanded to 17 employees and two buildings, featuring over 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor play areas." The owner lives on the property. "The dogs are surrounded by the picturesque Kentucky countryside, bordered by peaceful farmlands."
Who runs it
**Angela Counts** is co-founder and owner. The late **Pam Brown**, the other co-founder, "began training dogs for a program that provided trained canines for children with autism" before the two of them "recognized the need for an upscale boarding and daycare facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky." They opened in 2006 with the two of them and one employee.
Staff training
The site is specific about how its people are prepared: "Our staff undergo training in-house and through educational programs, such as those offered by the Dog Gurus. Additionally, we ensure that a staff member certified in PetTech Canine CPR and First Aid is present on every shift."
On the grooming side, **Kelly Decker** "graduated with honors from a reputable grooming school", and **Dorothy Bellows** "works alongside Kelly, sharing her skills, knowledge, and tools."
Hours
Monday-Friday 7:30 am-1 pm and 3 pm-6 pm, with the site noting the business is "Closed from 1pm-3pm Monday-Friday for quiet time." Saturday and Sunday hours are published in two places and do not agree – see the note in the review section.
