About Masters Boarding Kennels
What they do
Masters Boarding Kennels runs four services from one facility at 582 Pleasant Hill Road, Bowling Green: **Boarding**, **Daycare**, **Grooming** and **Training**. On the training line the site says: "Our facility offers different types of training for all of your canine companion needs. Give us a call to schedule your session today!" – a session-based booking rather than a published course catalog.
History
The site claims a long run: "For over 40 years the people of Bowling Green, the surrounding area, and across the country, have entrusted our facility for professional care of their family pets." It also records what the site was before: "Masters Boarding Kennels was a Police Dog Board-and-Train facility before Tammy Marshall-Weldon acquired the facility in 1997."
Who runs it
**Tammy Marshall-Weldon.** Her published background is unusual for a boarding kennel. Before dogs became the business she spent "a 17-year career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in her hometown of Charlottesville, VA." She now "continues her animal career as an all-breed trainer and exhibitor of Dobermanns."
Her competitive record is the part that matters most to a training client: the site states she "had the honor of training the 1998 and 1999 United Doberman Club's National Schutzhund Champions, along with the honor of being elected the United Doberman Club's President in 2022." It adds that "She shares her success as an instructor and mentor for others with their pets."
Health requirements
The kennel publishes a firm vaccination policy: effective July 1, "all dogs boarding with us must be up to date on their Canine Influenza vaccinations," with the exception previously allowed during the 2023 vaccine shortage now withdrawn. Boarding deposits are non-refundable if canceled within 72 hours of drop-off, "especially if your dog is turned away due to out-of-date vaccinations." The site notes staff "diligently contacts vets and owners about vaccination status."
Hours
