About Dream Team K9
Dream Team K9 is run from Warwick by Tori, and it is the most completely priced trainer in this metro: every service on the site carries a number, which is rare enough in dog training to be worth choosing a trainer over.
The price list
Private lessons are $70 for a half hour and $125 for a full hour, and cover basic manners, advanced obedience, tricks or behavior modification. Day Train is $140 an hour: a drop-in session where the trainer works the dog either in the client's own home or out on field trips, and sends back photographs, video and a written note of what was worked on that day. Board and Train is $200 a night or $1,400 a week, run in the trainer's own home rather than a kennel run, with daily updates uploaded to a shared drive so the owner can watch the work happening and refer back to it later; it finishes with two lessons for the owner at the end, which is the part that decides whether a board and train holds. Straight boarding is $75 a night and is offered to current clients, with informal half-hour training sessions available a la carte. Service dog training is quoted on contact.
The background behind it
Tori has been a dog trainer and service dog handler for over a decade. She started at a service dog organization in 2014 after training her first service dog, Teddy, then took a bachelor's degree in Canine Training and Management with a concentration in behavioral studies at SUNY Cobleskill, working alongside industry trainers during the program. She currently handles three dogs of her own: Moose, a Great Dane service dog; Grizzly, a Pyrenees mix she describes as her reactive old man; and Calla, a rescue pit bull mix.
What she takes on
The service dog work is specific: she describes having trained service dogs for medical alert, allergen detection, psychiatric and mobility assistance tasks. On the pet side she names behavioral cases as a favorite – fear, aggression, reactivity and anxiety – and lists basic obedience, advanced skills, agility, scent work and therapy work among what she trains. The combination of a service-dog task background and an in-home residential program is unusual in western Orange County; the two nearest things to it are a breeding kennel's board and train and an aggression-only behavior practice.
Practicalities
Contact is (845) 576-2316 by call or text, or dreamteamk9training@gmail.com. The business gives Warwick, NY 10990 as its location and is active on Instagram. It is rated 5.0 from a single Google review, so the rating says little on its own; the published price list and the stated qualifications are the substance here.
