About Elite Canine Services Dog Training

What they offer

Elite Canine Services is a board-and-train operation serving DeSoto County and the Greater Memphis area. Its Programs page sets out five stays: a seven-day Puppy Jump Start for puppies between 8 weeks and 4 months, a one-week board & train, a two-week board & train that it calls its most popular program, a three-week behavior modification program, and a four-week advanced off-leash program. It also offers overnight boarding, with refresher training for its own graduates.

How the programs differ

The puppy stay covers a potty-training schedule, crate training, food-based behavior shaping and puppy socialization, and the site says no training collars are used in it. The one- and two-week stays build loose-leash walking, sit, recall, place and house manners, and the second week moves the work into public places around distractions. The three-week program adds a behavioral evaluation and a customized plan for fear, anxiety, human and dog reactivity, resource guarding and aggression. The four-week program is for dogs without behavioral issues and extends the work to off-leash reliability and long-distance commands.

Approach

The About page describes a balanced training approach and says it uses modern E-Collar training as a communication tool, not punishment, to reinforce behaviors the dog already understands. The three- and four-week programs include an owner transfer session, and the home page promises lifetime support and claims over 10 years of experience. The site notes that aggressive dogs that have never trained with the business are not accepted for boarding.
