Enlightened K9 Training is based in New Berlin and serves Waukesha, Milwaukee and surrounding areas. It specializes in training and rehabilitating dogs that have been turned away from daycares, dog parks or other trainers, and calls its approach communication-based training.

Board and train programs

The two-week program builds a foundation of obedience for problems like jumping on guests, excessive barking, leash pulling or general hyperactivity. The three-week program is for dogs with reactivity, aggression, general or separation anxiety, or nervousness in new environments. The four-week program is reserved for the most severe cases, including human and dog aggression and extreme anxiety. Off-leash e-collar conditioning may be added, and the site says board and train includes unlimited private lessons for the life of the dog.

Private lessons

One-on-one lessons are offered in the facility or in your home, starting with a consult of up to 90 minutes. Sessions cover loose-leash walking, structure in the home, feeding routines and cues such as sit, down, place, drop and out.
