About Fargo Moorhead Kennel Club
What they offer
Fargo Moorhead Kennel Club is an AKC-licensed dog club, dedicated to canine excellence since 1953, that runs training classes in its air-conditioned building on Sheyenne Loop North in Fargo. Classes run in sessions with online registration, and every class must be registered for in advance.
Puppy and obedience classes
Puppy Connections is for puppies eight weeks to five months and works on new behaviors and habits such as jumping, hand biting and running away, with weekly handouts. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy classes teach sit, down and come and give puppies a chance to socialize. For older dogs, beginners obedience, basic skills and social skills classes cover sit, stay, down, come, leash walking, focus, place and recalls, and advanced obedience keeps building those skills for pets and performance dogs.
Canine Good Citizen and therapy dogs
A CGC and therapy dog class prepares dogs and handlers for the Canine Good Citizen evaluation and future volunteer therapy work, including meeting strangers calmly, medical equipment and being handled by others.
Dog sports
The club also teaches rally, AKC scent work from first searches to handler discrimination, agility from flatwork foundations up, flyball and conformation, and it hosts trials through the year.
