About Fort K-9

Family-run training center in Palm Bay

Fort K-9 is a family-owned and operated dog training center in Palm Bay, serving Central Florida, with nearly 30 years of experience. Founder and head trainer Rina Sullivan has a master trainer background spanning obedience, personal protection, scent work and police K9 training. She is also a certified veterinary technician, has directed a dog rescue, and specializes in rehabilitation and behavior modification for dogs labeled aggressive.

How it works

Every client starts with a free one-hour training evaluation, followed by a customized plan. Owner education is part of every program, and board and train dogs take field trips to stores and parks.

Programs

Board and train programs include Puppy Training (2-4 weeks), Basic Obedience (3-5 weeks) and Advanced Obedience (4-6 weeks) with off-leash work. AKC Canine Good Citizen, Advanced CGC and Urban CGC training are offered through board and train or private lessons, with a $50 CGC test fee. Behavior modification covers reactivity, resource guarding and fear, and a 5-8 week board and train handles human or dog aggression. Sports and enrichment include agility, swimming and scent work, and the center also offers personal protection training, daycare and boarding.
