About Fraternity K9

Fraternity K9 is based in Queens Village and states its service area as New York City and Nassau County. The whole business is organized around one promise printed across the top of the site: transform your dog in nine weeks or less.

The three programs

The navigation splits the work into an adult dog program, a puppy program and board-and-train, with a separate intake route labeled "get help for my dog" for owners in crisis. Clients get a structured curriculum rather than open-ended sessions: the client area publishes fundamentals videos and separate pages for week 2, week 4, week 6 and week 8 of the program, which is an unusually transparent way to show an owner what they are buying.

The problems it names

The site is written directly at the owner who has already tried something else. Puppy work covers house training, nipping and manners. The adult work is aimed at obedience plus "the big deal stuff" the site lists as anxiety, aggression, fearful behaviors and separation anxiety, along with lunging at other dogs or people, pulling on the leash, and running off. Off-leash obedience has its own explanation, framed around two very ordinary fears: the gate left open, and whether the dog will come back on a hike.

Who runs it

The About page is written in the first person by Donald Hutcherson, who tells the story of getting into dog training in Queens through his own pit bull puppy. The tone throughout is coaching rather than command: the owner is told they will be educated alongside the dog, and a free consultation is the published first step.

What they can help with

Early socialization, house-training and first manners for young dogs.
Sit, stay, recall and reliable commands, from beginner to advanced.
Help for dogs that bite, lunge or react out of fear or aggression.
Calming a dog that barks or lunges at other dogs or people while on leash.
Easing the panic and destruction some dogs feel when left home alone.
Your dog stays with the trainer for an immersive, multi-week program.
