About Get Real Dog Training

Real-world training from Hastings

Get Real Dog Training is a family-run, woman-owned business based in Hastings, MN, serving the Twin Cities, East Metro and St. Croix Valley, including St. Paul, Stillwater, Woodbury and Cottage Grove. Its tagline is "Real Dogs. Real Solutions." and it offers results-based training, canine nutrition support and conditioning programs meant to work in everyday life as well as in class.

Who it helps

The business specializes in behavior modification, obedience and multi-dog pack management. It works with reactive, anxious, shy, fearful and high-energy dogs, dogs with trauma, therapy dogs, and owners who have had negative training experiences. Head trainer and founder Erin Hyden attended the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers, and her husband Jeremy assists with fearful dog cases. Training plans are described as customized and humane.

Getting started

New clients book a 15 to 30 minute consultation call, fill out an intake form and then book a Starter Session, which works as a behavior consult plus a working session and ends with a clear plan. Behavior assessments, one-hour and 30-minute private lessons, and classes and events are also offered.
