About Give Paw
In-home training around Chalmette
Give Paw Dog Training is run by Jen Milam, who offers personalized training for dogs and their owners in the Chalmette area. She describes herself as "an interpreter between dogs and humans" and compares training to parenting: there are many ways to do it, and her job is to find the method that works for each owner and dog.
How the training works
The training mixes positive reinforcement with corrective measures and is done in the client's home. Jen provides unlimited in-person coaching plus continued support and guidance by phone for as long as a client needs it. Appointments are available Monday through Sunday, 8 am to 8 pm.
What owners say
One client wrote that her fearful dog "was terrified of people and acted viciously" and was "a completely different puppy" after two hours with Jen. Another said that in two days his 7 month old shepherd mix went from failing a daycare socialization interview to being off leash at a dog park. A third described help with a rescue's severe separation anxiety and reactivity toward people and dogs.
