About Peace of Mind Dog Training
From vet tech to dog trainer
Peace of Mind Dog Training is a personalized, one-on-one dog training service in St. Rose. Its trainer graduated from Northwestern State University in 2005 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and has worked in veterinary medicine since 2005, in roles from ICU nurse and surgical technician to vet tech at the zoo. In 2009 she opened Peace of Mind Pet Sitting, then shadowed local dog trainers, worked for a local trainer and shifted her focus fully to dog training.
Training approach
The service uses balanced training, which it describes as a mix of positive reinforcement and correction-based techniques aimed at a well-behaved, balanced dog. It offers basic obedience and off-leash obedience, with each session built around the dog's needs and goals. Training takes place in a home setting and includes field trips, follow-up lessons and lifetime support.
