About Golden Paws Pet Care Services, LLC

Golden Paws sells one idea harder than any other on its site: it is Western New York's only structured dog daycare with dog training built in, and basic obedience training is included during daycare rather than billed as a separate class.

How the day is built

The facility runs 4,200 square feet indoors with radiant heat flooring, air conditioning and HEPA-filtered air, and 3,000 square feet of outdoor turf, which the site claims are the largest turfed play yards in the region. The argument it makes for turf over grass, dirt, gravel or concrete is injury risk and paw-pad comfort, and clean, sanitized play space in any weather. Adult and puppy daycare both come with obedience schooling.

Wellness and extras

Monthly nail trims, dental cleanings and ear care are described as automatic inclusions rather than add-ons. The published extras run to holiday daycare parties, birthday parties, homemade weekly lunches and summer pool parties.

Safety and staffing

The site puts more than 15 years behind the business and emphasizes its intake evaluation as the thing that separates it from facilities with frequent incidents. Both owner-operators are on site daily, staff turnover is described as minimal, and the company says it runs its own continuing education program for staff.

Where it is

The Derby location sits in the Southtowns on Sturgeon Point Road, a few minutes from the surrounding lakeshore villages. Boarding is offered in suites alongside the daycare, and the first day of daycare is free.
