About GR Pet Services

GR Pet Services is Guillermo's practice – the site calls him Memo – working across Long Island, and it is one of the few local businesses running genuine group classes rather than private lessons only. Its own line for the work is 'Connecting Hands & Paws'.

Skill-building classes, not a course ladder

The class list is built around single skills rather than levels, which is unusual and practical. The WoofProof Recall is a skill-building class on coming when called. 'How to use the leash!' is a second, on leash handling. AKC CGC Cert Prep is a third, aimed squarely at the Canine Good Citizen test. Private lessons and a Playtime session round out the menu.

What the coaching is actually for

The site puts understanding ahead of obedience: the main goal is stated as helping the owner communicate with the dog, understand its emotions and identify the causes of its behavior, on the argument that this knowledge is the first step toward a shift in unwanted conduct. Lessons are designed case by case around the dog, the family and the environment.

Who is behind it

Guillermo works alongside Troy, his own dog, and the site also describes work with Molly, his therapy dog partner, visiting people in need as community work.

The published cases

The client accounts are consistent and specific: a terrier mix worked through fear of people and other dogs; an eight-month Labrador that pulled, where the owner says she was given the tools and the reasoning to walk him confidently; a three-year-old adopted Podenco whose household could not get him to walk on lead. Each account emphasizes being taught the why as much as the how.
